Playing piano with ease

Learning to use your senses to gain greater control and freedom in your musical expression. In this video, I demonstrated working with a student who was learning Chopin's Etude No. 1, which requires to play irregular patterns of arpeggio going from left to right throughout the piece. Finding balance is a key element. In addition to use fingers and arms to control the keys, we can include the pelvis to share the burden by learning shift the weight right and left in your sitz bones with a feeling of being supported by the feet. However, our body is built with a design of connection, so we can't forget the spinal movement. When you shift to the right, for instance, your spine AND the rest of yourself would need to shift to the right with a quite subtle move.
